Gislene Feiten Haubrich, student of the Cultural Expressions and Processes program, will present work on ergology

The Doctoral student in Cultural Expressions and Processes at Feevale University - Gislene Feiten Haubrich- will participate in the 3ème Congrès de la Société internationale d'ergologie (SIE) at the end of the month. The event will take place from 29 to 31 August at the Université d'Aix-Marseille, Aix-en-Provence, France. Gislene is going to present the work Dramatique d'usage de soi et objectivation d'activité: discursives pratiques de communication dans les Portails d'entreprise sous la perspective érgologique (The dramatics of self-use and the objectivation of the work activity: discursive practices of communication on company portals in the ergological perspective), in which Professor Ernani César de Freitas is the co-author.

The Doctoral student explains that Ergology is a proposal for interdisciplinary analysis of the work in which, unlike traditional approaches to the world of work, it is assumed that the work is more than mere execution or production of capital. "It is through work activity that the person triggers all his or her body and soul background. However, it does not refer to a transcendental approach, but to an approach based on the understanding that we are beings capable of building /transforming social norms and not just reproducing them, "explains Gislene. This way of interpreting the work originated at the University of Aix-Marseille, where the congress will take place, which will bring together researchers from various locations around the world engaged in research of work  in an interdisciplinary perspective.

"In this work, we studied especially the attempted of objectivation of labor activity, ie, the use that companies make of the workers’ speeches on their web portals. In such cases, it is requested that the subjects make brief statements about what they perform in the organization. But how are these statements used? How are they adapted to the interests and standards of an organizational discourse? What is the purpose of such action? How is work represented on this disclosure? Finally, these are some routes that we went through the production of this study. "
