Desplastique is first place winner in the event of Novo Hamburgo
After three days of work, the winners of the Startup Weekend New Hamburg 2017 were revealed. Since Friday, October 27, the third edition of the event has provided a 54-hour immersion in the world of entrepreneurship and innovation, in which specialists assisted in order to create successful business models. As a result, 17 groups have developed projects to present the judges on the last day, which was held on Sunday, October 29, at the Campus II of Feevale University.
The Desplastique team took first place winner. Formed by Anderson Glaeser, Cleide Morais Neves, Ezequiel Kunst, Gabriel Augusto Stengel, Lucas Lopes Smit and Nicole dos Santos, the company presented the proposal to sell organic products without using plastic containers.
‘The main event experience is not to be afraid of making mistakes. Don't be afraid to change the idea, or think your ideas are just bad. Change as long as it takes to get it right, but never change the essence of what is inside you’, stated Smit to all the participants of the event.
Nurse Me got the second place winner, under the aim of developing an application for individual requirements in case of needing a bandage, an injection or some medical help, throughout it, one can have the access to nurses who are able to assist pacients personally. The team is integrated by Debora Freiberger, Joner Tadeu Neves Pereira, Mauro Sarmento, Ieda Marta Forte and Edivanea Zavaski Moreira.
Reaching third place winner, Step By Step, created by Cátia Machado, Diesson da Silva Abatti, Lindomar Carlos da Silva, Vinícius Bauner and Márcia Pacheco, proposes to develop a prosthesis for children, adjustable to their growing size. The startup Melancia received the Honorable Mention of the issue due to the proposal of an online platform that sells worn maternity clothes, from client to client. It was developed by Mariana Donaduzzi, Maria Porto de Almeida, Neriton Toledo Peccati and Rafael Paz.
As to the pro-rector of Innovation of Feevale University, Cleber Prodanov, the ideas that have emerged during the marathon may generate good business.
‘All teams were able to reinvent themselves. This is the spirit of the Startup Weekend, the members were able to create methodology,learning and growing during the 54-hour process, enabled by the immersion’, said Cleber.
The teams that took the first, second and third places awarded months of incubation at Feevale Techpark, a passport to a course of Pílulas da Inovação program and free tickets for Startse-Accelerator Day 2018.

It is about a competition of startups that occurs in intense 54 hours of activity. Over three days, the competitors have been encouraged to come up with good ideas, validate them, build their business model, develop a prototype and give a presentation to the judges. The Startup Weekend brings mentors and entrepreneurs together, with the goal to inspire and empower individuals, teams and communities.
