Agreement with Università di Bologna was signed this week

This week, Feevale University signed a partnership with Università di Bologna, the oldest higher education institution in the West, located in Bologna, in northern Italy. The cooperation agreement, which includes an addendum for academic mobility, was signed by the rector of Feevale, Cleber Prodanov, and the director of the Department of Architecture at the Italian university, Fabrizio Ivan Apollonio.

Founded in 1088, almost a thousand years ago, the Università di Bologna is one of the leading universities in Europe. The institution was important for scientific advancement and is a world reference, having received, as students, great names in history, such as Nicolaus Copernicus, Umberto Eco, Erasmus of Rotterdam, Torquato Tasso, and Saint Charles Borromeo, as well as Popes Alexander VI and Gregory XV.

In 1999, the Università di Bologna was the scene of the Bologna Declaration, marking a change in relation to policies linked to higher education. Based on the commitment of the signatory countries to promote reforms of their education systems, the European Higher Education Area was created. The declaration recognizes the importance of education for the sustainable development of tolerant and democratic societies.
