Otto-von-Guericke Universität Magdeburg, from Germany, together with Feevale University, carries out the FSC Governance Review 2.0 research project. The objective of the project is to analyze the structure of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) organization by developing a global survey, interviewing around 300 members worldwide, collecting data to identify strategic issues and proposing a set of actions to improve its structure.

Feevale professor, Moema Pereira Nunes, is responsible for the management and execution of the project in Latin America. According to Moema, the research is in the phase of finishing the first stage of interviews with members of the organization, executed mostly online through focus groups. "As FSC is a global organization, the results aim to help the organization as a whole, so there will be no data breakdown by country," said the researcher. The project also has the analysis of a group of students of the masters in International Business from the German university and it will be developed until December, 2019.

FSC is a global non-profit organization that sets standards for managing a forest responsibly, both environmentally and socially. The organization works to care for forests, protecting species of plants and animals, indigenous peoples' rights and forest worker safety, among others. This protection is achieved through FSC certification that ensures that forests around the world are managed responsibly.
