Winner of 2019 Travel Awards, Andréia Henzel will attend a meeting of the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science in October, in the USA
Last June, Feevale University professor and researcher Andréia Henzel was selected by the Regional Committee of the Americas (ARC) from the International Council for Laboratory Animal Science (ICLAS) as the winner of the 2019 Travel Awards. The committee's title will sponsor her trip to Denver, Colorado, as well as her participation in the 70th National Meeting of the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS), next October from 13th to 17th. The scope of the event will be One Health - Connections Between Animal, Human and Environmental Health – it means the relationship between animals, humans and the environment in the health field. After the event, on October 17, Andréia will visit the vivarium University of Colorado vivarium.
The professor was chosen for her potential to make significant contributions to teaching, research and other aspects of laboratory animal science at Feevale and in the country. Andréia, is a member of the Virology and Environmental Virology research group from Feevale, and her participation is relevant to Feevale - Ceua, Ethics Committee on Animal Use, and it happened through the Federação das Sociedades Sul-Americanas de Ciência Animal de Laboratório. In addition, the award points out the importance of the newly created Internal Biosafety Commission (CIBio) for Innovation at Feevale Experimental Vivarium (IBEX Feevale), of the Master's Degree in Toxicology and Toxicological Analysis, as well as the Master's Degree in Virology (both from Feevale University).
