
José Luiz Domingues Gularte joined the World Forum on Theology and Liberation and recorded a video to be shown to students in the classroom.
José Luiz Domingues Gularte, a teacher at Escola de Aplicação Feevale, was selected to present his research at the World Forum on Theology and Liberation (FMTL), an event held as part of the World Social Forum (WSF). The event took place in Cotonou, Benin, from July 31 to August 8. Gularte shared his experiences in Africa with the school's students. He recorded a video that was shown to the classes, allowing students to connect remotely with the history and culture of Benin. Upon his return to Brazil, the teacher will share more about this experience with the school community, broadening opportunities for dialogue and learning derived from this international experience.

During the event, the professor presented a paper titled Between the Benin Drum and the Brazilian Drum Lies an Ocean, which was part of the panel Memory of Slavery and Ties between Benin and Brazil. Chaired by Brazilians Selenir Kronbauer and Ronilso Pacheco alongside Beninese researcher Sylvestre Edjekpoto, the panel brought together experts to discuss the memory of slavery, historical and cultural connections between Benin and Brazil, and contemporary challenges related to the subject.
