Portable X-ray should be delivered by the end of October
Rolante Hospital Foundation (FHR) was one of the health institutions in Rio Grande do Sul which was heavily affected by the floods in May this year. Several work fronts sought resources and donations to rebuild the hospital, including an initiative by the German General Consulate for Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina. The representation is leading the donation of a portable X-ray device, worth R$ 266,000.00.
The donation request was monitored and executed by a group, composed, in addition to the Consulate General team, by members of Fundação Hospitalar de Rolante (FHR), the Association of Commerce, Industry, Services and Agriculture of Rolante and Riozinho (Acisa), and by the academic from the Postgraduate Program in Cultural Processes and Manifestations at Feevale University, Douglas Márcio Kaiser. The team completed a series of steps, such as preparing documents, reports, equipment budgets, and contract verification.
“The device is in the manufacturing process, and the expectation is that it will be delivered by the end of October”, explains Kaiser, who was born in that hospital and lived in Rolante for a long time. “At Acisa, I was a direct volunteer between 2013/2015, but we maintain joint activities whenever possible. The relationship with the Consulate is largely due to my activity as a volunteer at the Igrejinha Oktoberfest, and to my doctoral research, which is related to German culture”, explains the academic.
