In Portugal, professor Débora Nice Ferrari Barbosa talks about ongoing research and prospects for new academic partnerships
The partnership that Feevale University keeps with the University of Aveiro, in Portugal, might intensify. This is because professor Débora Nice Ferrari Barbosa, from the Postgraduate Program (PPG) in Cultural Diversity and Social Inclusion at Feevale, is at the Portuguese institution on a research collaboration mission. Until January 12th, the professor will be at the university's Center for Research in Didactics and Technology in the Training of Trainers (CIDTFF) to discuss partnerships between the two institutions in research, teaching, and extension activities. The focus will be on research into digital technologies applied to education and on comparative studies involving the use of digital games in an educational context.
The person welcoming Feevale’s professor in Portugal is Margarida Lucas, researcher at CIDTFF. Along with Débora, she is the advisor of doctoral student Ângela Musskopf, from the PPG in Cultural Diversity and Social Inclusion. Her research, developed as a sandwich doctorate at the University of Aveiro, involves the relationships between European digital skills - established in a document -, digital games, and the teaching of English as an additional language.
Another commitment Débora Nice had in Portugal was with professor Ana Veloso, director of the Department of Communication and Art at Aveiro. The goal of the meeting was to prospect comparative research in Games applied to education and the elderly. Furthermore, from January 15th to 19th, the Feevale professor will be in Lisbon to visit the Department of Electronic, Telecommunications and Computer Engineering (DEETC), linked to the Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa (ISEL). There, you will be welcomed by professor Valderi Quietinho, to prospect academic partnerships.
