Event organized by the Água Azul social project reaffirms Feevale’s commitment to more responsible and humanized educational practices

Last week, Feevale University’s social project Água Azul: Inclusive Aquatic Activities held the Água Azul Seminar: Challenges and Inclusion in Practice. Held at the Cosmos Space in the Red Building on Campus II, the event brought together educational administrators, public and private school professionals, and representatives from Departments of Education. The opening remarks were

delivered by Fernando Spilki, the Pro-Rector for Research, Graduate Studies, and Extension.

Organized by the Office of the Pro-Rector for Research, Graduate Studies, and Extension, the event, held on the 14th, served as an interdisciplinary forum for training and reflection on contemporary challenges facing schools. It focused specifically on the inclusion of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and the working conditions of education professionals. Throughout the day, experts addressed rights and responsibilities within an inclusive context; psychosocial factors and mental health considering NR-1 (Regulatory Standard 1); the coordination between the Singular Therapeutic Plan and the Individualized Educational Plan; Augmentative and Alternative Communication; inclusive learning; and sensory rooms.

According to the project leader, Professor Denise Bolzan Berlese, the lectures and panel discussions fostered an exchange of experiences and bridged the gap between academic knowledge and the demands of daily school life. "The initiative reaffirms Feevale’s commitment to integrating teaching, research, and community outreach, and to building educational practices that are more inclusive, responsible, and humanized," she states. The event featured presentations on initiatives carried out by the Água Azul project, as well as talks by Emerson Tyrone Mattje, Jacinta Renner, Maria Lúcia Rodrigues Langone, Viviane Cristina de Mattos Battistello, and Camila Kafer.
